Happy Friday everyone! I’ll be honest, I really loved the idea of sitting with my HB every Friday to discuss our money together, but for the past month he’s either been working, I’ve had plans, we’ve been sick, or we just didn’t feel like it.
We’re going to be making more efforts to continue this routine because there a ton of money topics we still need to tackle, but that’s why I haven’t done one of these posts in a while.
So, as an update on my last post about my HB and I making a couple budget, since a month has passed, I thought I would disclose how we did. As a refresher, this is the budget we created together.

We looked through out joint bank account and our separate accounts, tabulated all of our expenditures, and we were pretty close to meeting our budget. I think we overspent by maybe $100 and that was mainly on stuff for the house since we’re still buying things we got rid of when we moved. Not too shabby, but it wasn’t all easy. We hardly ate out (we made home cooked meals almost every night) and since we are still relatively new in town, we don’t really have a crazy social life that costs us a bunch of money.
So, for the time being we’re going to stick with this budget and then review it again in a few months to see if we encounter any changes. Since winter is just around the corner, I’m curious to see if that will affect how we spend our money. The temperature has been steadily dropping outside, but luckily, we still haven’t had to turn on our heat. I guess that’s the one good thing about living in a high rise, we benefit from our downstairs Neighbours’ heating. Let’s hope it’ll last all winter!
That’s it for now but check back tomorrow for my blog love post and an update on what’s been going on in my life this week.
Have a great Friday everyone!
